Planner Friday - Halloween special

Hi!  I'm Amanda from She's Eclectic and I'm the resident planner girl here on the Trendy Twine blog.  If, like me, you're a fan of paper planning then you will love the range of stamps Annie's Paper Boutique have created over the years!  There are practical everyday sets, school life stamps, journalling and scrapbooking kits, special occasion and holiday sets and some really cute image stamps too.

As it is almost Halloween I wanted to show you my spooky themed week I have created using some APB stamps!

If I can, I like to pair my pages's theme with a matching set of Trendy Page Dots reinforcements as they strengthen the paper around the holes and add an extra pop of colour to my spread.  For Halloween I had these awesome skull and pumpkin designs to work with!

Halloween Trendy Page Dots

As usual I started my decoration by adding strips of washi tape to the top and bottom of my pages, followed by the Trendy Page Dots.

I have daily to do lists and reminders so I used the Check It Off set to print some tick boxes (or circles in this case!) and then added what I need to do and remember with the At Home and More At Home stamps.  Anything I don't have a stamp for I fill in with a pen.

Any space I have left over afterwards I use for fun!

My Halloween themed week

I used the quote stamps from my Happy Halloween set on a few of the days and highlighted Saturday and Sunday with a Weekend banner.  For the pumpkins, candy and treats I used stamps from the Hello FallFoodies and Drinks & More sets and then coloured them in once the ink was dry.

The Happy Halloween stamps are on sale right now and you can find some more inspiration for how to use them here on the blog, why don't you take a peek now while you are here?

Happy Halloween and see you again soon for another Planner Friday!

Planner Friday - February

Hello!  I am Amanda from She's Eclectic and I am the resident planner girl here on the Trendy Twine blog.  I love to use my APB stamps to help me stay organised and to add a bit of fun to my planner pages too.  As next week is Valentine's day I have gone all out with a "romantic" theme full of hearts and things that go together perfectly so let me show you how I did it!

Products used: You & me planner stamps

The first thing I always do is to add washi tape wherever I can fit it in on my spread, usually along to top and bottom of the pages.  Then I pair that with a set of trendy page dots which reinforce the holes and protect my pages from tearing as well as adding a lovely splash of colour! I do this before I write or stamp anything so I know exactly how much space I have to work with.

Next it is time to get practical with the Check it offAt homeMore at home, and School days stamp sets!  I use the Check it off stamps to create my to do lists and then I use the other sets to add my reminders and things I need to complete like doing the recycling, paying bills and running errands.  They also cover things like events, appointments, assemblies and after school clubs.

If you want to just get organised you can stop here, you have made your plans and now you just need to work on finishing them but if you want your planner pages to look really pretty as well as being practical then there is one more stage left to do, decorate them!

Decorating with image stamps, washi and trendy page dots

I use my APB image stamps to create my designs and a few stickers here and there.  For this week I used the You & mePerfect pairs and We go together stamp sets to add sweet little couples that compliment each other like coffee and doughnuts and eggs and bacon.  Then I coloured them in to match my Valentine's Day theme using lots of pink!

Next week's plans

So this is how my week looks!

Do you like to decorate your planner, I'd love to know!

Planner Friday - August

Amanda here from She's Eclectic. I'm sorry, I know it is still August and officially summer for a few more weeks yet but we are one day away from September and I can't wait for the season to change!  I've had a lovely summer but autumn is my favourite time of year and I'm ready for it to begin so my theme for this month's Planner Friday is very autumnal and inspired by APB's Hello Fall stamp set!   I wanted to create a monthly overview for September as my children go back to school next week and it's time to get organised again after a rather relaxed August so I opened up my TN and got to work with washi tapestamps , pens and stickers!

Used but not pictured: Coffee paper clip

My colour theme for September is full of oranges, browns, yellows and reds with a bit of green mixed in there too based around the colours of autumn leaves.  I used the image stamps from my Hello Fall set to add some fun decoration to my pages and matched them with a leaf print washi tape to pull it all together.   I coloured in the fall images and then added a big coffee cup sticker because all I ever hear about in autumn is pumpkin spiced lattes!  I have never tried one because they really don't appeal to me but so many people seem obsessed with them maybe I should give one a go this year!

Hello Fall image stamps in action

The next thing I did was to add all of my reminders and appointments etc to the month with my At Home and More At Home stamp sets and the start of a new school year meant that it was time to use my School Days stamps again too!  Until the children actually go back and get their new timetables I could only use the First Day of School stamp and the Club one to remind me that my oldest two need to return forms to select which after school activities they will be doing this year.  Once I know what and when things will be happening I can use the rest of the set to record things like PTA events, welcome back assemblies and the all important picture day!  I have left myself plenty of room to add these things over the upcoming weeks so it should be pretty easy for me to stay on top of things, fingers crossed!

September in my TN

This is how my month looks at the moment, there's nothing too scary on there just yet and hopefully it will stay that way but if things do get crazy I know I can handle it all as long as it is in my planner!

If you want to have a go at getting more organised or just want to check out all the planner stamps then stop by the store now and take a peek!

See you next time!

Planner Friday - June

Hello!  Welcome to Planner Friday!  I'm Amanda from She's Eclectic and I've been the resident planner girl here on the Trendy Twine blog for the last four years.  I stop by once a month to show you how I use my APB stamps to get organised and to pretty up my planner pages!

As it will be July soon I spent some time this week setting up the monthly overview in my travellers notebook.  I like being able to see exactly what I have going on each month all in one quick glance and the stamps are so much neater and easier to read than my handwriting!

One of the things I love about the APB stamps is that they work in so many different size planners!  They fit perfectly in A5, personal, pocket and mini size Filofaxes, all sizes of Travellers Notebooks and planners like Erin Condren's and the Happy Planner.  Over the years I have swapped and changed my planners, organisers and journals but I have kept on using my APB products as they are so versatile.

I have recently switched to B6 size and this gives me enough space for my notes and reminders without being too big or bulky for me to carry around daily.  I started to plan my month by adding a strip of washi tape along the top edge of the pages and matched my inks and pens to the colours of it.

Then I used some practical stamps from the School DaysAt Home and Title It sets to record things like clubs, field trips, the last days of school, bills, errands and planning sessions.  I also used the Brain Dump stamp from the Title It set in the long space next to my calendar on he left so I can record any random information and reminders as and when they come to me.

Once I had added in all my plans I decorated some of the free space using the sun stamp from the How's The Weather set, a couple of fun quote stamps from the Choose Happy set and some sweet coffee stamps from the Need Coffee set because if I'm going to survive a sweltering hot summer then I'm going to be drinking iced coffee all day, every day until autumn!

My July plans

Have you planned your summer yet or do you want to get organised before the new school year starts?  If you are feeling inspired then stop by the store now and check out all the stamps and supplies that can help you with your goals!

Planner Friday - April

Wow, Planner Friday came around again so quickly!  I feel like the months are speeding by and it will be summer before we know it.  Though that's not a bad thing, I can't wait for some sunshine!

For today's post I wanted to show you how I use my Annie's Paper Boutique stamps to help keep me organised and add a little fun to my planner pages too.

I knew when I started planning my week that I was going to be busier than usual so I added plenty of check boxes for my daily to dos using a stamp from the Check It Off set and then added my reminders and lists with stamps from the At Home and School Days sets.  I reinforced the holes in my pages with colourful Trendy Page Dots, paired them with some bright and cheery washi tape and added one of my favourite coffee planner clips.

Talking of coffee I knew I was going to need a lot of caffeine see me through the week so I made it the theme for my pages!   There is a special set of  APB stamps for my fellow coffee addicts, aptly called Need Coffee and they are the perfect size for planner pages as they are quite small so you will still have have plenty of space left to make your notes around them.  I also used a larger coffee stamp from the Perfect Pairs set in my Sunday section as I have less to do that day and had more space for decoration.  The last thing I did was to colour in the stamps with fineliners and pencil crayons and then I was ready to face the week!

My week fuelled by coffee

I have to admit I am glad it is Friday now as my week is winding down a little.  I might have had a lot to do but every time I opened my planner I was greeted with a cheerful spread which made my tasks seem less daunting.

How do you get through a busy week?

Don't forget to stop by the store to check out all the lovely planning supplies and I'll be back again next month for another Planner Friday!

Planner Friday - February

I know it is only the end of February but I am already daydreaming of spring!  I can't wait to see flowers blooming and feel the sunlight warming my skin again, winter feels like it has lasted at least six months!  With this feeling in mind I have swapped planners into a white binder and I am filling it with lots of florals and fresh colours to keep me going until spring actually does arrive.

Journalling cards & paperclips

I have added some journalling cards and a few of my favourite paper clips into the pockets of my planner and they make me smile each time I open it up!  The positive quotes on the journalling cards are going to help me through the last days of winter and they are nice and handy if I want to document anything on them in the meantime.

I continued the spring theme onto my planner pages this week using lots of lovely Annie's Paper Boutique products.

I am really happy with how they turned out!  I love how clean and tidy they look because of the APB stamps and I matched my ink colours to the washi tape and Trendy Page Dot reinforcements just to pull it all together.

My spring themed spread

I used the At HomeMore At Home and Check It Off sets for my daily to do lists and reminders and the Weekend stamp for some extra decoration.  All of the positive little quotes come from the Choose Happy stamp set and they are fantastic for brightening your day!  I think they are one of my all time favourite sets, they're just so happy and cheerful!

If my pretty spring planner has inspired you to get organised then stop by the store now to pick out some supplies and I will see you again next month!

Planner Friday - December

Oh my gosh!  I can't believe how quickly December has flown by!  I have been trying to squeeze every last drop of festive fun out of the month and I still feel like it has passed me by!

Planning my week - before the ink

Products used:  Paper clips

For my last Planner Friday post of the year I want to show you how I have decorated this weeks spread.  I have a lot of things I still need to do before the big day so I thought making the pages pretty would help me keep calm and not panic too much!

I used washi tape at the top and bottom of my pages and then matched that with some lovely Christmas Trendy Page Dot reinforcements.  As well as looking nice and colourful the Trendy Page Dots protect my pages from tearing if I am leafing through them too quickly.  I think everyone who uses a ringed planner knows the pain of ripping a page so these are fantastic!

I love using APB's Christmas stamps in my planner, there are so many different quotes to choose from it is easy to find something that fits perfectly!  I have also been using them to embellish my Christmas card envelopes and gift tags this year so they are practical as well as fun.

For my to do lists and reminders I used the Check It OffAt Home and More At Home sets and as it is the last week of school I have quite a few events to attend so the School Days set covered those for me.  Seeing so many notes and tasks in my planner usually makes me feel stressed but all the decoration just makes me smile and even more determined to get everything finished so I can enjoy the holiday!

My week so far

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year, I'll see you again in 2018!

Planner Friday - October

Hello!  I'm Amanda from She's Eclectic and I am a self confessed planner gal.  I live for lists, I get over excited by organisers and I am persistently punctual!  I use my planner to organise my life and I fill it with to do lists, reminders, plans and ideas and this usually keeps everything ticking along nicely.... but sometimes things just go wrong!

Photo of my week

Last week is a perfect example.  I had everything in my planner, I knew what I needed to do, where I needed to be and when I needed to be there but the universe had other ideas!  First of all the dental appointment I had been worrying about was rescheduled at the last minute (I was just setting off when I got the call!) and then my internet connection disappeared for 48 hours leaving me constantly checking my mobile for updates on the repair work and crossing my fingers that my data allowance would see me through until my broadband was back.  It's not that I'm addicted to being online, no scratch that, I totally am but it also messed up my blogging schedule! So overall it wasn't a fun week but at least I could release some of my angst with a few of my APB stamp sets.

Used but not pictured: Trendy Page Dots

I hate leaving things on my to do lists unchecked but using stamps from the Screaming InternallyNo Adulting and Not Happening sets meant I could leave myself little snarky notes about my days or why I hadn't completed things.  When I look back as these pages now I won't be annoyed that things got away from me I will probably have a giggle instead.

I used the Chin up stamp from my Choose Happy set on Sunday to remind me not to take my negativity through with me to a new week and to give myself a clean slate.  I also spent some time binge watching Netflix which was a great way to wind down after my blah week!

If you want to add some sassy stamps to your collection pop over to the store now and see what takes your fancy!

See you again next month for my Christmas themed post!
