True Love

Hey everyone, Becki here from The Happy Card Encouragement Factory with some more love for the month of February. I know you have seen similar projects from the other team members recently but I swear I was already working on mine in January, just had to wait my turn to post. I, like Candi, love to work with wood. She is trying to convince me to buy a scroll saw and router. Now I just have to convince my husband I need one. Candi, you may have to give him a call. ^__^

I love the Cherry Cupcake twine, don't you? I like using it on more than just Valentine's Day. It's great for a whole host of other holidays too. Well, hope you liked my project today, it was super fun to make. Even though the February challenge is over, be on the lookout for next month's challenge. It's going to be super fun!

Trendy Twine Suncatcher

Hello, it's Becki from The Happy Card Encouragement Factory back with a slightly different twist on twine. I made a set of mitten suncatchers with my new favorite - Watermelon Taffy! Cool, huh?

I am sorry about the pictures. I wanted to take them hanging in the kitchen window, but sadly, no sun for us Ohioans for a few weeks. So I had to hang them on my lightbox with a second light shining from behind the drop cloth. I know they don't show these mittens in their best light, but I really wanted to show everyone how cool they came out. Totally different!

Jack Frost in Twine

With the way I made ol' Jack's eyes, I might be talking about the horror movie, Jack Frost. Haha I should have tried to make him less demented looking. Maybe googly eyes would have softened his features. Oh my, just thinking about him with spinning eyes is cracking me up!

This month's Trendy Twine spotlight color is Candy Cane and Holly Berry. I choose to use the Candy Cane twine for Jack here because it has a bit of white in it. I just thought I would try something different with my twine. I like to use twine in totally new ways then just making a bow and putting it on a card. There is nothing wrong with that (probably going to do that with my Christmas cards), I just like to push the envelope on what twine can be used for. Not every idea works out. The project I was making before Jack here should be on Pinterest Fails...seriously.

I drizzled his hat with glitter glue to simulate frost and snow. To make Jack was pretty simple. I just wrapped twine around three different sized Styrofoam balls. Stabbed some wire arms into the sides not forgetting to give him his buttons and facial features too. That's pretty much all there is to making this little guy. Speaking of little, he is less than 5" tall.  He's my baby Jack.

Here's Your Sign

A very spooky Halloween sign to be exact!  Hi, Becki from The Happy Card Encouragement Factory here to bring you scary uses of twine for this heart-pounding holiday.  OK, my ghosts aren't that scary but I do think it was a genius use of the Orange Licorice twine, if I do say so myself.  LOL

It's hard to get a glimpse of the glitter pen I used on the inside of the lettering from my camera.  So if you are wondering what that weird looking stuff is, blame my camera for not picking up the cool iridescence of the pen.  Much shinier in person.  LOL  Want to know the supply list?  Check out my blog for details.  Thanks for stopping by Trendy Twine.  Have a great day and happy crafting!

Rockets Red Glare

Hello, hello!  Design Team member Becki here with a cute little project that I wasn't sure would work out too well - stand alone twine stars.  I know Fourth of July has come and gone this year but I couldn't get the Star Spangled Banner out of my head (probably because it's one of the only songs I can play on the piano).  With that song came the idea of a rocket ship with stars trailing behind it.  But since the Fourth is over, what would I use it for?  Along came my 2 year old nephew who is obsessed with Buzz Lightyear.  Buzz has to use a ship to go from planet to planet right?  Why not make a rocket ship mobile to hang in his room?

Different, huh?  I thought this month's Trendy Twine color Berry was perfect but couldn't help use some Blue Berry besides to match my rocket ship.  Guess I just can't get the good ol' red, white and blue colors out of my head.

I already know Logan likes it because he kept trying to grab it and repeating "Buzz" over and over.  This mobile is really going to look cool hanging in his Toy Story room.  The stars are super easy to make.  Just visit my blog, The Happy Card Encouragement Factory, for details on how to make the stars.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
